Today I am going to follow on from my last blog about our container, and ‘just walking in’ … I’m sure the Lord must spend a lot of time laughing from on high at His kids, as they try in their own strength to work things out, and do things the way that seems logical and sensible to them.

This week’s lesson to your’s truly takes me back to that wonderful scripture in Proverbs 3:5 ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding’.

Isaiah 55:8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine”

Well that’s for sure! We have kind of resigned ourselves to the fact that we are moving from our lovely house in the country. We have started packing some things in to the container, and a couple of days ago we began the task of dismantling spare beds and sorting stuff we won’t be needing in the next month – including some online shop items.

One of the things most people like to have is a plan…like when will you be leaving, and where are you going? But we are learning in this season, that the Lord is speaking to us as He spoke many years before to His people in Matthew 6:34 ‘Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own’.

He tells us to ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God’ in Philippians 4:6

Yesterday we drove north to spy out the land we feel we are moving to. We prayed for confirmation and a sense of knowing where we would settle. We asked for our angels to go before us and prepare the way. We prayed for a rainbow to confirm what we were thinking. We prayed long and hard before we left home, and do you know…we came home not much clearer than when we left. Except that the Lord said ‘Not Yet’. So, does not yet mean not today? Or not tomorrow? Does that mean not next week? Or not -before -you- leave- to- go- to- China on 30th June?

Or does not yet simply mean ‘ Be Still, and KNOW that I am God’?

HE has the plan. When we first moved from Hawkes Bay a year ago, all we knew was that we were going to come to a bridge. We arrived in Cambridge, and within 3 weeks everything worked out perfectly, as we put our trust in Him.
This time all we know to do is to ‘move north’. We THINK we know where north is. But trusting that the Lord will reveal it all in HIS timing is where people often come unstuck. We need to learn to wait and keep our eyes on Him. All will be revealed in due season!

It’s funny, because when He says ‘Be Still’ my thoughts go straight to ‘so are we moving or not?’ Today as I look at the shambles in my half packed studio, the sense to either put away, or pack up is still the same…start packing, and when the time is right I will tell you where you are going.

We have a God of incredible order, and I know He’s got this all covered. We know we are definitely leaving for China on 30th June which is 4 weeks away. A lot can happen in 4 weeks. And yet we need to be ready. Can we trust Him in all this, and have everything packed at the right time, so that when he says GO, we will be ready to go?

I guess that as long as we keep our eyes firmly on Him, it will all be revealed. One step at a time. So today I will finish packing up my studio and tomorrow I will await the step for tomorrow. Secretly I love this walking by faith. It keeps me on my toes. I’m aware that HE is never early, and HE is never late… so I just need to be ready. He will go before us and prepare the way.

Deuteronomy 31:8 tells us that ‘The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged’. That’s good enough for me. I know He won’t let us down. I’m ready. Are you?
